@Guy Smith great to see you comments the other day on a simplified scheme for RT. However there is nothing about this in the consultation and Red Tractor have said they will be basing future changes on the consultation. Do you know when they will be withdrawing the current consultation and updating it with these new concepts?

If Aldi are so keen on RT as a promotional tool they should explain this. The evidence of its irrelevance is on the shelves.

My wife and I went to Tesco today and made a real effort to look for Red Tractor logos on food . We found quite a lot on meat products but a few said packed in the the uk not meat produced in the uk . Most milk was RT but not one single loaf of bread / roll or grain based product (apart from weetabix ) could be found displaying the logo we are all so proud of 🤬.

So what are grain farmers paying for?

And the privelege of being called a backstabber by someone on the payroll ostensibly representing farmers!

It has to go. Or at the very least not involve grain

Andrew Blenkiron definitely didn’t run that article by Rebecca Miller. What’s the point of employing a top notch comms person if you don’t use them. I hope you gave him hell Rebecca and took away his crayons (no way he is allowed ink anymore) 😂

I really don’t want to be involved in an organisation that insults it’s members by calling them backstabbers or accuses them of spouting off on social media.

As soon as we can find a way of selling grain that bypasses such people the better.

I don’t want people like that representing me or our industry. they certainly aren’t representing me or doing any good for my business With that sort of attitude.

The people who do represent us need to look very closely at who they put in prominent positions. More careful choice is needed to have folks who will promote us for doing the world beating job that we do.

A few portacabins on an industrial estate and our premiums would be halved. We are being taken for a ride by men in suits.
At least it's not long now till they have to vacate their place of work and be wound up.

In my experience a CEO or plc board member would never use such language as displayed by one RT board member, one should think very carefully before saying such things publicly.I was shocked and saddened to see such language as " backstabbers" used ......how unprofessional. I think some of their board members are not suitably qualified or experienced to be in such positions. We need a good clear out and a rethink. Can RT continue ? I don't think so it's,imo, become too tarnished by some of the people/ egos who run it.
I think we do need some basic assurance scheme, though, and I'm sure there must be some good people within RT who have the experience and could be invaluable in establishing something new.
