Brilliant!!!! Made I chuckle, esp the last option. Farmer Stu sounds like he needs to get on the board of RT.
Am not having an inspection and will go unassured this year until we have a workable solution. Buggered if I'm paying the shysters any more of my money.
Did so a couple of years ago, not regretted it one jot; particularly enjoyed the genuine amazement - over the 'phone - when I told them I wasn't interested, they truly, honestly couldn't get it! They kept saying 'But are you sure?' and just wouldn't believe that I was; remarkably, they called back a while later... and I was still sure. :ROFLMAO:

Clearly, the angry crowd can make a difference - the tide does seem to be turning

my fear now is -

1) they say all the right things but then actually do nothing different from what they planned anyway (the usual way !)

2) give us the "equal to import" scheme we have demanded BUT forget that "equal to import" actually means no FARM assurance at all and therefore call this new scheme"equal to import" whilst actually being still a level above and charging us accordingly .................. ie same S!"£T different name

what SHOULD happen

1) create "equal to import assurance" charge an absolute minimal amount to administer this SELF-certification scheme

2) leave RT as we know it as an option for those that want it - if it can get a premium then some may continue to want it, a free decision with an alternative for those that do not want or need this

3) Red Tractor need to install a board with a majority Farmer vote (not NFU installed) - voted in OMOV by RT farmer members, those board members to elect Chairs etc

Just print off a calendar . Make a legend denoting all the different things we have to enter into our exercise books.
eg circling red for counting insects, black for a mouse dirt, orange for putting the fan on, green for mucking out the trailer etc etc. End up with whole calendar for him to wade through of all your records in a comprehensive colour scheme. Job done.

Tin hat on, many of us (including ourselves) have invested a considerable amount of time, effort and money to comply with RT.

Why would we now support the ending of RT, only for a new regime/scheme to start up with a new compliance list. We would be back to square one.

We have little choice in reality.

I think number 3 in your fear list is they double down on red tractor I suspect you genuinely have rattled one or two cages. Think we will steady see a gradual increase in the number of red tractor schemes covering every sector dealing with agricultural till no one actually has a choice.
