We had a small, self replacing tribe of semi feral cats. Mum would only keep one Tom about at any one time. Those feckers would best any snake around the house. They patrolled between house and barn/cattle yards and never seemed to go beyond that. I think they kept other feral cats away too. Lost a dog or two over the years though.

Remember one day when I was discing in Australia, a snake attacked the disc as it went past! :scratchhead:

Didn't need to think about them too much when you were on night shift unblocking tines blocked up with vines in your shorts in the dark.

We get cattle bit with adders now and again they swell up but not a lot else do you lose much stock to snake bites can easily imagine them sticking there nose in especially if they live under the water trough

They live anywhere where theres cover. Mice holes in channel banks, rice banks. Under sheets of iron or old concrete. Under hay bales in sheds... you name it.... you learn pretty early too not put your hand up/in anything you cant see in. Like 6 inch clay irrigation pipes. Pulled cups out and had the odd snake washed out the other end over the years...

New house site mowed, need to do some earth works and plant some trees.

Finished Cattle yard design,

Patching up old fences suck.

Best part of day, letting the boys out for a walk.

The middle photo of your celebration dinner - please tell me that's just ice and coke in the glass and you had the Glenlivet separately on its own?

In a period of 8-10 hours and aged 16, I managed to condition myself to completely physiologically reject Whiskey for the rest of my life.
I will be forever grateful to my mate, who dragged me above the high tide mark at around 2am. We were camping on the beach north of Sydney one January. The next day was brutal and 40+oC. I know what a near death experience really is.
