I didn’t bother today to listen because I have had 2 teams meeting with rt in the last few weeks and the only benefits that they have said I get is I can buy rat poison,the whole gravy train needs to be derailed now as I have not been given the financial rewards for being a member

On the other hand the NFU meeting today with NFU members was very constructive. The feeling of the 'meeting' was similar to much on here (RT threads on TFF) without the anti NFU rhetoric that is so misplaced.
There is a lot of anger out there with regard RT, the new proposed standards, and the general feeling of poor value.

Definitely useful meeting and I get the feeling that not only do the top end of the NFU understand the strength of feeling but they will try to do something about it. Whether they are able to is another question.
Sadly I don not think the anti NFU rhetoric is misplaced, Minette is a clear RT supporter and their constant insistence they have no control here is rubbish
even if they didn't own a chunk of it (as they incorrectly claim !) they could simply tell all members to withdraw RT membership next monday ........... JOB DONE ! RIP Red Tractor !
grass roots NFU is fine, great guys, mostly unpaid working hard for a better UK ag future BRILLIANT - the paid professionals all have their nose in this same trough though with their mates, tales of Minette being "dragged" from her RT board seat abound, she saw no conflict of interest apparently. the people running RT are her friends
Its sad when resigning NFU membership is the only way a member can get anyone to start listening but right now it is the only direct vote anyone has on this
The NFU CAN fix this - pretending they can't is insulting to inteligence
AHDB could also fix this I think ....... I think they maybe more likely to do so however and pull there £250k support and get a new self cert "produced within UK legal standards" box added to grain passports which is all this actually needs

Look ta like this if there is no opposition in a country to the ruling power what is it but a dictatorship . What else can grain producers do at the moment but be rt. The situation now the bord is set no chance to change ,if nothinges is done now it will give them cart,blanch to just keep putting the screws on.

19 people on the AFS board (heavily loaded with RT bods who have an interest in promoting their own brand, a token NFU man in Stuart Roberts (and er, and Blenky the somewhat now stained old rascal who represents no one but himself and a good job too after his utterances) and are responsible for deciding what direction the rules and standards should take.
AFS decide these standards as a result of canvassing what the BRC would like us to do - again at no cost to them to the BRC. Perfectly evidenced by Harriet from McDonalds who want the standards but don't have to pay for them and certainly don't want the standards enough to pay for the Red Tractor logo on the website or packaging.
Farmers do not have a voice in this and they have never had a voice in it. It would be ok if there was talk of a premium but there isn't. So keep fighting, we are on the right side of this there needs to be more farmer representation of it all because no one is articulating our point of view - Jim Mosely is out of touch with why farmers are fulminating about it
