Not even a whiff 😳 did my asthma checkup last october and got asked how many units of alcohol I've consumed, I said about 20 bottles, the nurse looked horrified and really worried and started to tell me I need to cut down, suddenly occured to me she meant in a week whereas I meant over the past year 🙈😂 been in lockdown for most of the year and haven't been out or seen hardly anyone and been working every hour of the day (as theres nothing else to do!) both at home and planning for the big move so just havent been bothered with it 🤷‍♂️
I don’t think he was on about drink😉

63, the last massive snow drift, which was in a wood, lasted till early june. It killed the trees that were there, and only elder, shrub/tree wise has grown back since. The only times snow looks nice, is in a picture, or the first look after falling, before starting work, then it's ####### we had loads of pigs, in traditional pens, the snow used to fill the outside runs, we we then had to dig out, by hand, long gone, thankfully.

Anyone ever tried putting the nut and spring on the clips for a milk bar feeder. Can’t get in there with any tools 🤬

Did you find it's needed more so that if you're away from farm on busy on silage etc you don't have to rush back for milking, or more because it was needed to keep on top of work on a daily basis? Or both?
We have someone milk on a Sunday for us, it's the day that works for her as her other half can be home with the kids. Just that one morning a week with the alarm clock not going off is nice, although I'm usually awake listening to make sure she's in! I usually do the other 12 milkings, although Mrs G will do the afternoon if I'm baling etc. It also gives us the chance to jump ship for a few days, not that we can at the moment, and that's part of the reason for having Mel do a day every week so she keeps her hand in as such.
A chance to stand back is needed too, think about something else other than milking cows, even if it's just thinking about milking cows better, if you see what I mean.
The previous person we had milking here got very unreliable, phoning on the morning to say she wasn't feeling well, then going beating for the day thinking I wouldn't find out. I did 60 milkings in a row when I got to the point of enough being enough.

our problem is finding a relief milker, that meets sons criteria, the last one cost us more in breakages than we paid him wages ! All the good ones are fully booked, which leaves the #####, but he has milked every milking for at least 3 years, i sometimes doubt he actually want's one, but he needs one. Cows will be out this week, though we have just started calving, that will ease the work, and we have someone starting next week, to rear the calves, she used to milk goats, so might get her interested in relief............ at least we know the work will be very well done.

Who’s fanny ? Is she a nice girl?
Oh yes.
In all seriousness, getting married to a good wife is one of the best things I have done, and I think quite a few on here will think that a good partner is their most valuable asset. Jdunn is going to struggle to find one with his work load, less so find one that puts up with his work load. I just hope he doesn't work himself into a nervous breakdown like a young man I know.
Come to think of it, that's why my wife is so good for me, she tries to stop me working so hard, and going quite so mad.
