Steinbauer or Remap

I have a Claas Arion 550 which feels very numb and gutless on road work. I feel like a lot of modern engines it is strangled by egr and emissions garbage. Surely it has a similar engine to what has been fitted into JD pockets rockets like the 6430. What would people recomend a remap or a steinbauer tuning box? Also has anyone used Turner Tuning are they ok? Or is Derv Doctor the best

We had our 6430 remapped and it's been fine also had a steinbauer on a 6155r and it was fine as well so either or .

The remap will disappear if the dealer does any updates on the tractor is a big downside

Plenty round here had issues with it . They used to be able to just do one bit and leave the rest alone so the map stayed but not now it's all or nothing. JD that is

Software amungst controllers is now so integrated that they must go hand in hand as thats how they're tested. JD call it a 'firmware payload' and the service advisor tool will check the chassis number & software versions embedded in the controllers against the mothership for the most upto date payload.

I had a tractor done by the derv doctor a few years ago. Just had it serviced and I think he's cleared the map while trying to get rid of an error code. I'm tempted to go steinbauer but it's a lot of money.

Had a Steinbauer on a Claas Atos 350, never really impressed with it, tended to run a bit warmer. Had the tractor remapped, made a machine out of it. Bit more power but a lot more torque to pull against hills. Done by a reputable firm dyno printouts etc.

What age is the tractor? If it is still under warranty be careful Claas seem to dyno a tractor for any warranty work and plug a laptop in. Even seen it done for a trivial job.

It’s still got 18 months of warranty so I guess it’s Steinbauer or leave till out of warranty and remap

How much is a stienbauer? And can it be reprogrammed at less money to suit another tractor or do u have to buy another
They're about £1200 now I think I just sold our one to a friend and that's what he was saying. I'd think it'll just be a different wiring loom to suit different tractors but could be wrong that's certainly how it was with a tunit chip anyway.

The steinbauer will transform it but definitely get someone to dyno it when we fitted ours I took it to someone to check it and ended up turning it down a bit as it was a bit savage on power.

I used to run a 650 claas and it was the same it just needed another 30 ponies to make it into a shire horse. The other good side to the chip route is it's still worth something to sell when you're done with it
