I personally enjoy oat milk and I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, it goes well in tea

Fair enough , not got an issue with that or those that are vegetarian or even vegan for their own reasons.
Had a very interesting conversation with a BBC reporter who is vegetarian. He said usually farmers are quite offended and show distain before asking the reason why, his reason is because he doesn't like the taste or texture.
I've no issue with others choices as long as they are based on facts and correct information not just something they have made up.

The person that designed our website put on there that our Jersey milk was 94% fat free. You wouldn't believe the number of people that were either surprised because they believed Jersey milk was high in fat, or wanted to know why we took the fat out of it, when in reality it is just as it comes out of the cow. Initial amusement in dealing with stupidity soon became tiresome so we asked for the website to be changed.

An interesting taste test here comparing real milks with artificial ones. Spoiler alert, Oatly Milk comes last.

We tasted and ranked 7 different types of dairy and non-dairy milks. Oat milk came in dead last.
We tasted seven different milks in their plainest form, in a bowl of cereal, mixed with coffee, fried into French toast, and steamed.

Ultimately people will need to eat less meat if the whole world takes on western meat eating levels which they generally are, especially in China etc.
Imo in the future authentic farm raised meats will be a luxury, I'll be happy with that.

To answer @Farmer Roy Oatly are pushing their product here as mainstream using the lower carbon emissions fallicy.
It has nothing like the nutritional profile of milk so should not be called milk IMHO.
It's an ultra-processed sweetened vegetable drink.
If they marketed it honestly I'd have no issue with it.

If the World does not develop, that may well be achieved. However, it won't, people are getting richer and the demand for better nutrition and diets will also grow, meat included.
I agree on the point about farm raised meats, that already appear to be doing well.

If you want oat milk, it's simple to make at home; cheaper than buying it; keeps well enough; and you can compost the waste.....or you could just give your money to Blackstone. Google-fu is your friend if you want to check their ethical credentials.
Never underestimate how oblivious the consumer is to real facts. It isn't even their fault, they're constantly bombarded with marketing bollox and it's only getting worse.

We had another asking for bacon without e numbers (because e numbers are bad for you, right?) I told him the e numbers were preservatives and were necessary for food safety. So he asked if we sold bacon without preservatives, which we do. Its called pork. He didn't realise that bacon was preserved pork.
The trouble is that people believe the likes of oatly with their spurious claims because its on the internet, so must be true.
Not really very adventurous. Grow oats. Sell oats to a merchant. They end up at Oatly. End of.

If it’s 60,000 tonnes of organic oats, as mentioned in an earlier post, I’m guessing they’ll struggle to get that amount exclusively from the UK.

So is this oatly said to be organic AND vegan ? Because I can't see how that is possible or sustainable
