Have a look at the kuhn. Vicon isnt making the greenland design anymore. There makin some1 elses baler now but cant remember whos. Kuhn is making the greenland now as is deutz afaik and it has a great intake. Seen them working beside a welger and mchale and in a large lumpy row the mchale and welger were blockin and slippin the clutch the kuhn just ate it all up no problem

We sold our last round baler 10 years ago so a bit might have changed but our welgar 435 at the time would leave any other baler standing probably didn’t make as tidy bales at a vicon but went faster. I may be wrong but I’m fairly sure a welgar is 2” wider bale than any other baler that’s why net can look a bit scruffy on the shoulder

All three are the same, we had a Massey 822 and a Greenland RV156L and they are pretty much the same apart from a wide pickup and net wrap, the vicon is just later on with different stickers

The Kubota/Kv/Vicon baler is a Gallignani. Don't let that put you off, it 'might be' a good baler. I say 'might be' because there are not many around and I have almost zero experience of them. They were indeed sold as MF balers until Kubota bought Kv and AGCO bought Lely's machinery division.

It's a bit like a magic roundabout or a dog eat dog.

I think Greenland is original and I’m sure the plate said geldrop?
Greenland was a sort of alliance between Vicon, Deutz and Kv I think. Certainly the two first names. Then perhaps Kv bought the two out, I don't remember precisely. Anyhow it ended up with Kv loaded with so much debt that they had to sell Vicon and the baler design to make some payments due. It was a good deal for them because Kuhn were under the impression that they had bought the Geldorp baler factory but it turned out that they had only bought the baler and drum mower designs and had to rent the factory.
Currently, of course, the Kv group poured some money into the under-utilised but very very modern Gallignani baler factory and all the Kv company was bought out be Kubota.

So Vicon balers are now Kuhn and balers with the Vicon badge are Gallignani/Vicon. All in their second or third generation now since the musical chairs.

There you are, it's all so very simple.
