I'll send my pigeons down next autumn!
A hard winter.
Use canopy management tools like VR to adjust your spring N doses.
250 grammes/ha of tebuconazole isn't very strong, but it's cheapish.
Metconazole is pricier and does little disease control.
Caryx is even dearer.
Supply lots of fresh potash and tissue test the plant to see what it lacks.

12kg/ha.!!
Sheep two months ago to thin out the plant population a lot I'd think.
A hoe to cut half the plants off?
Roundup through straight down stream jets?
Makes my 2.5kg look mean.

We’re going for Caryx on one field that has remained knee high right through the winter. But that was only drilled at 4kg/ha.

Against my better judgement recommended Cryx at 1.4 lt/ha on rape sown 6 kg/ha with chicken manure applied last August. Too thick - to the extent some plants leaning over and lodging now. A fertile farm that receives oodles of manures. The farm staff think Caryx is useful and have used it regularly in previous years. And in previous years, I have put up canes and arranged non treated half tramlines. All I will say is i I had not put in the canes would never have found the untreated plots again either from eight reduction, any effect on lodging or the combine yield maps.

What do you suggest for controlling height? Omit second N application? Or maybe replace with a smaller foliar N?

I am banking on the monthly Sunday communion when I converse with the Almighty. I have and will continue to ask for benign weather to the South of Lincoln for the next several weeks until early August. No wind and heavy rain. And currently am negotiating my penance for such deliverance. The crops are getting very little spring nitrogen - possibly a few kgs at early flower.

Not this time. Today the trick is to Google for "chlormequat canola". Plenty of research papers for folk to draw their own conclusions. Hint - make sure you check the product label. I am not an agronomist.

If I get a moment I will take a look in my archives - think it was late 90s, possibly at Morley and elsewhere chlormequat was tried. ARC I am sure did some trial - Fromebridge would know.

Perhaps we should all get together and sacrifice some vegans for the cause.

Has anyone ever used ‘Circle’ on osr? It’s essentially just modus. Used it on agro’s recommendation a couple years ago, as did a neighbour and it made it sit stuck in time at green bud getting murdered by pollen beetle. Thought I was going to lose it all. Never again.
