Stubble Turnip Land Wanted NE Lincolnshire

As above, I’m looking for stubble turnips for this coming autumn/winter. Anywhere north of Lincoln to the coast considered. After 200ha, ideally in 1 block. I’d like to establish crop in late July/early August. I do all fencing shepherding etc. Land clear of sheep and fences by 1 Mar. PM or call me to discuss.

@simonk88 @yellowbelly @teslacoils @DrWazzock are a few names I can think of. Before GDPR forced Clive & Chris to take down the map of members locations, finding TFFers in a given area was easier.

There's some big farms in Lincolnshire but to find 500ac like that in one block is a big ask.
They're pretty much going to have to have 500ac of winter barley to get drilling that early and be looking to grow 500ac of spring barley and or sugar beet next spring.
You're looking for somebody who grew 500ac of rape and has now packed in due to the neonicotinoid(spelling?) job. Problem is they're probably not growing enough (if any winter barley).
Most of my local 'winter grazing' are much smaller scale and growing cover crops rather than turnips.
There'll be somebody out there somewhere, I'll keep my ears open.

Just as an after thought, with the sheep trade the way it's been, will we be able to afford to buy any store lambs next year????
A lot of these bug arable boys will be looking at the job now with ELMS and what have you and think it looks like a licence to print money

Or someone growing 500 acres of potatoes. It is not unheard of in this part of the world, particularly 'on the other side of the river' from here - i.e. the nice land in Shropshire. Admittedly it is sometimes a few farmers putting their land in together.

I was just trying to put a few names together for word of mouth introductions. It’s a big area in one go but there are some big operators in the Wolds and on the Heath who might be considering how they can start to get the Golden Hoof back into their arable rotations.

It was by word of mouth that I found a good grazier for 100+ acres of turnips on the chalk land I used to manage as part of a diverse and extended crop rotation that included turnips for biodiversity, game cover and soil health benefits.
