should i feel guilty? sent my lads off for 5 years to get bollockings of sombody else, youngest still not back after 15 years we cant afford him what he,s earning in a non ag workshop! he spends all his spare time here and wont take a penny.
As long as he’s happy that’s what it’s all about , if you had not let him go or sent him away he might have thrown that back at you ? And time yet for him to return and bring skills back to the family firm ?

Many of these companies are catching on that it as good as advertising to do a bit of product placement. It is a very good idea from the point of view of me, a mere farmer. I get to see stuff that works or doesn't work in practical situations operated by peole who are like me doing the sort of things that I do or might like to do.

More power to the utubers, it is a lot of work for them. Tom Pemberton has had some kit that he might not have used otherwise for example.

My Mrs joined up to Instagram last year, I hate to admit it, but I’ll have a scroll through it regularly. Tbh it seems more of a close knit farming community on there compared to Facebook. But you do get regular posts of Ad’s and #gifted amongst the ‘influencer’ uk farming gang. Work clothing, boots, cattle clippers, ear tags.
I saw a post by ‘the dairy daughter’ who works on her family farm, but also runs a rural promotion business. She was looking for farm Instagram users who would be interested in trying some free silage additive. The catch was you had to have at least 6000 followers.

he isnot that happy he has to work with some right twunts! eg wanting him to sign a machine off to site unfit just to get it there , it,s his neck on the line and he wont do short cuts, thats just 1 issue.

I know people have said “ don’t watch Ollys farm “ but my issue is that it puts the whole farming industry in a bad light. Imagine a member of the public watching his channel, getting his car stuck in one day of snow, after heading to the farm at 10 past 9, complaining about his car getting stuck and the rest of the video is him pissing about on his bike and filming his dad doing the work, before heading home “ early “. Next video “ right guys my wee car got stuck in the snow so I’m going to buy a brand new £40K pickup or Land Rover “ No one in farming behaves like that, he makes the job look profitable for such little work and farmers have money to burn.

It also Doesn’t help that he has such a smug and punchable face.😂

How is the funky farmer not sent more stuff to demo. He has 133k subs. It would be the perfect opportunity for Massey or McCormick to advertise for small money with him. Another crowd would be Autoglym products. Send him out all the free products and send him a grand to do a before and after on his dung spreading tractor. Surely that would be very cheap advertising.

Do you think he's that unusual?
Only watched a couple of his Videos but outside of the YouTube thing I think there's plenty like him.

Quiet a few on this forum come across like Olly not just him, coming from a simple hill farmer, ;)

Honestly can't stand Olly, comes across as such a smug little tosser playing with daddys money.
His recent video he talks about buying a dung spreader because in his exact words " with who I am, with Ollys farm I'll get the work for it " .......😂😂
Also he has bought something else for the farm because he's " been working flat out the past few months, he deserves a treat ". He also deletes any comment that could be considered critical or negative towards him.
I actualy think the point i really turned against him was, in one of his videos where he was ranting about needing a handler (after selling his JCB for a loader tractor) His rant was all because the loader broke a grease nipple and he couldn't load things as quick as a handler, he called out Ripon Farm Services in the video, even though they came out and gave him a replacement loader but still hadn't removed the "broken" one from the farm. This, for our lad Olly was unacceptable to him, despite being in the midde a pandemic and Ripon probably had more urgent issues than removing a loader from a farm for a spoilt little twit.

Drewmister fae Tiktok (now Drews farming life) is one of my favourite channels, videos are always worth a watch.
Absolutely agree 100%! I know it is a free country. But two things that annoyed me was when all he did was moan and groan about the JCB and the problem with the AdBlue, which is perfectly normal for any machinery with that AdBlue crap on. I hope he has the same problem with other new machinery he will inevitably buy and finds out it is not only JCB that have problems with AdBlue. The other thing that annoyed me was when he said he wanted to keep that 6930 for years and had something done to the computer on it to get rid of an error code and then decides to sell the tractor a WEEK later just made my blood boil! I haven't watched him since. One day he'll realize that when he's in business he cannot be indecisive and throw money away like that. I prefer Tom Pemberton by a mile. I know he may have had his farm given to him, but he does not waste money on machinery or expect the earth and he is a real grafter.

I agree about Olly so I don't ever watch him now, but he could learn a lot from Tom pemberton he seems to work very hard really puts the hours in, working hard to achieve his future goals, also like farmer Phil another one who works bloody hard, and just started watching ifarm wefarm

I think a lot of what Tom Pemberton said about making up his decision between a Ford Ranger and updating the farm. He said that he could be putting money towards paying off the Ford Ranger, had he bought one, but instead he is saving the money to put towards a load of concrete! Now that is what I call sensible!!

Ye the more I watch him and hear his thoughts for the future the more I like him, really seems to have his head screwd on much like his dad

Tom Pemberton is great, I’m really looking forward to seeing him improve the setup and buildings over the next few months. Comes across as a really decent hardworking lad.

Just discovered The Sheep Game today, a new entrant in Ayrshire establishing a commercial flock all on rented ground. he’s quite amusing and informative goes into a lot of honest detail about costs and margins which I find very interesting. Also very familiar countryside and relate able situation which adds to it for me.

I don’t mind watching some of these my blogs/vlogs and if they’re going to make a few pounds out of it fair do’s. It is the one that has brought farm stimulator into real life that really peas me off, he just comes across as a spoilt little rich kid. I’d like to hear what his neighbours and local contractor think of all his plans.
