Has anyone been caught speeding in say a defender or commercial pickup
50 in a 60 and 60 in a 70 is the limits?

No such thing as "a 60" or "a 70", although we know what you mean. Better to think about the road for what it is, rather than the usual speed limit when in a car on that type of carriageway. Also worth noting that some commercial limits are different in Scotland than in England for similar road types.

But to get back to your question - plenty get caught because they forget that commercials are different from cars, especially so on average speed sections such as the A9. Always worth checking the vehicle type too, because sometimes it's not obvious.

I got pulled over in a defender absolutely flat out in a 60 the copper said we have been doing over a 100mph to catch up 😂 I realise your local and know the road but wind it in and put your seat belt on and walked back to his car and drive off , Nice chap, wish I had his name I’d buy him a pint .
Reminds of a tale my Dads mate told me when he was a lad.

Rolled his car on way home from pub on a country lane, was staggering around in road when local bobby pulled up. He learnt against his turned over car whilst chatting to bobby and he said by time he’d explained what had happened he’d slid down it and was sitting on the floor, (a little worse for wear)!
Bobby just said “bloody hell Dougy best get you home to bed”.. 😆
Simpler times back then....

I got done in defender in 1999 as well 83 in a 60 , the copper was writing the ticket out and I said here mr , it’s a Victoria cross you should be giving me not a speeding ticket for doing 83 in a defender , he didn’t laugh and handed me the ticket , only two times I’ve ever been caught .

Dad had a 280SE Mercedes many years ago, got stopped doing 40 in a 30, He said to the PC 'it's hard to keep this thing down to 30, here you have a try' off he went, came back 5 mins later, 'I've always wanted to drive a car like that, now bugger off and don't let me catch you doing it again' with a big grin on his face. Simpler times certainly.
