Yes not a bad option. Trying to run as few groups as possible due to rotational grazing, so didn't really want lots of different bulling groups.
we have 4 groups with 75 females, mainly for knowing what goes to what and also if they are related keeping them apart.
What about if they had a gangbang?
I’m assuming (may be wrong) that you could DNA test for that animal alone? Don’t know how it works, ie if you’d have to get the whole herd done, costings etc.
I think if you tested the bulls plus any calves you weren't sure about it would be fine. Although, as above, pedigree registration may involve it being more extensive.
