Will we be ploughing for re seeding in the future?

Yes, I've often wondered about the carbon footprint of producing a 9 ton Fendt and no till drill..
Not against it BTW, it's just the cost of change. In the present climate I would need to be given a drill FOC for it to stack up.
Why buy one . £27/acre . Job done

a brown field ot like a piece of unpainted metal, unprotected and rusting (oxidising) away. As you point out as much as 3t:ha of carbon released when what we should be doing is sequestering that kind of qty each year instead ...... and being paid for this unique and valuable service only we can offer !

thats before the effects of unstable soils eroding and leaching nutrition is considered

crazy to even consider doing it in 2021 or that its still legal given the clear present state of our climate
Apparently the “Park Grass” ecological experiment, run at Rothamstead Research, since 1856, reckons peak carbon capture was 100 years ago, not a lot being caught now. The study is published in BMC Biology. Just read an extract from our local farming paper, “Wales Farmer”.

If they had spent more time on the land rather than learning how to spell dinosaur then perhaps they would understand it better. Or maybe they are stuck in the mud caused by ploughing
Yeah it is a tricky one that would take quite a bit of time alright 🤷‍♂️
Anyway these days you can Google that spelling while driving up a field, and besides most people learned the likes at school.

Are your grass seed growers ploughing?

Best get them all turned up to temp grass now while you can , thats what we doing, prob be locked into PP forever else knowing this green nonsense
Yes done a fair bit of that at home in the past 5 years. Partly wondering because I do a bit of contract re seeding so wondering if there will be anyone doing it in future. I guess if livestock farming gets hammered it will knock it on the head.
