Your quite correct but I’ve seen plenty of machines started from cold and put straight to work along with machines that never see a grease gun.had several hire machines that have not had much love eitherDo your homework I guess some plant machines firms will have been servicing on the button I would think. As you say though majority will have been hammered by inexperienced operators.
I have read you post chill out ehDoh!
Quoting what you heard from whoever was yabbering at you last is not a sound basis for YOU to form an opinion - surely you know this.
In this case a digger driver who told you JCB has deteriorated in quality over the previous 25 years.
If that’s his opinion then fine, he is entitled to it - I said as much if you read my post. However.
Have you been plant operator for 25 years?
Have you bought a 360?
Have you paid for a 360?
Have you maintained a 360?
Have you compared the running costs like for like from one machine to another and considering purchase price vs likely repairs or depreciation made a decision/took a gamble and then followed through and bought said machine?
A machine shagged with 8000 hours. And have faults. Oh Lawd Jesus Say it’s not so.
Just what point are you making, in comparison to what?
Here is Salma Hayek. She is 52 years old, and my isn’t she in great order.

I have definitely seen 52 year olds in worse condition. Infact I have seen 35 year olds in worse condition. You could say she has been well MAINTAINED
She is certainly wearing her hours well, and I certainly would not use the term you did earlier to describe her appearance in her presence.
Yabbering do live on another planet?Doh!

Many hours on it ?We've got a js130 been a good digger. One of best bits of machinery we've bought for farm.
About 7kMany hours on it ?
Well that proves there are some good jcb machines around,About 7k
Probably, will be a long time till its changed. Only done 1k hours since we bought it. We were paying £35/hr plus moving on/off site for a contractor, it cost 19k if i remember correctly so paid for itself quickly.Well that proves there are some good jcb machines around,
Just out of interest chae when time comes to upgrade will go jcb again?
Chae I did meet farmer once who brought jcb jd series he had some problems with it but it did 4 years work on his farm, suppose it's luck if buy second hand sometimes though.Probably, will be a long time till its changed. Suppose on many off sites I been on, used to either Volvo or doosan diggers, plus komatsu,Lucky we bought it off a TFF member! Through a classifieds post on here. I'd a pretty good idea by his posts on here his attitude to maintenance etc.
What type of noise?Js145 same as 130
Noise on slew as it stops
Is there anymore grease points other than the ring
No play in ring at all
Thanks for any help

Round plate on chassis just below main lift rams allows you to grease actual ring gear but unlikely to cause a noise unless you have a major issueJs145 same as 130

On my old js 13 there was a small plate in front of the engine one where there was a grease nipple. I'd never know it was there. It started to grumble. A good grease sorted itJs145 same as 130

Low pitched grunt when the slew stopsWhat type of noise?
I thought the Sumitomo connection ended in the late 90s?If the mentioned one above is £16k it will probably be fine and we’ll built unlike some newer stuff.go on condition and check slew ring play.probably a sumitomo based machine aswell
