First wormer for lmbs?

The books say that, I've never had a serious Nemo problem which didn't show up on fec. Another vet friend I discussed with agreed agreed. Would need to be a serious hatch but different conditions with you.

I tend to keep an eye on Nemo forecast and weekly fecs in danger period. Tend to go 0, 50, 500.

@Greythundercloudys where are you? If your still having frosts etc I wouldn’t have thought so but those that havnt had frost in a long time and have had mid teen temperatures for weeks it will be totally different.

I’ve been giving white stuff by my supplier for first dose. Albacert is what it is , I’m holding off lambs look well still frosts at night. I don’t do fec counts mainly because of where stock is and time . Generally dose when start seeing bits of dirty bums

first flush of nemo (3rd stage ) wont show up on fec , will do damage before egg production , still a bit cold yet though cocci more an issue eating in hot zone with this short grass

Just did 250 lambs today for Cocci. 2 lambs went very dirty on Monday and 1 or 2 others looking like it today (today is first chance I've had to go at them).

Nadis parasite watch says my nearest station is on Amber for Nemo... decided to worm them when they were in - we did have 4-5 very warm days coming up for 2 weeks ago so there could have been a hatch but I fully expect to need to do them again, though...

What did you dose with?

Just checked the scops website and apparently my nearest station 6miles away is at black high risk so I guess I’ll do mine again tomorrow to be safe 😅😂

I have used Tolracol for the past two years. I like it because it has a residual effect if I'm a few days early and the fact one dose is enough. It is also a wee bit cheaper than Baycox which also has a residual action.
I use Rycoben SC as a first white wormer as it has a verified dose of cobalt and selenium and I know they are in short supply in my pastures.

Nemo eggs been showing here for 2 weeks on some ewe samples (next doors earlier lambing flock)
I generally don't go near lambs with a nemo drench until i see the eggs show up ---i don't completely buy the ''dose them when it's deemed dangerous '' approach
