EMLID Reach RS+ Set-Up with FieldBee

Hi all,

Looking at setting-up a basic trailed sprayer rig with cm accurate GPS.
The Reach RS+ is now £520, this looks a good deal.
What's people's experiences with using it as a single unit?
And also, anyone still using this set-up with FieldBee app?

Cheers,

Thanks for this.
How much can you get them for?
Which model?

Not exactly apples-to-apples comparison but the ardusimpleRTK2B starter kit from Ardusimple costs 211 Euros and it supports GPS, Glonass, Galileo and Beidou and it is a dual frequency receiver. Basically the same performance as Reach RS2.

This looks really interesting
Are you using this hardware are with an Android app?
Do you get centimetre accuracy with just one unit, or do you need a second or a correction service?
I'm out West btw
Cheers

For RTK you need a static base station to create the corrections that the receiver on the tractor/sprayer can use. If you want your own base station then you will need a second receiver for it.

NTRIP is transmitting RTK correction signals from a base station receiver to a tractor receiver via the internet and mobile network, I stead of dedicated radio transmitters.

You still need a source of correction signal. Either from your own base station or from someone else's.

Some people use dual receivers on a tractor but that is a separate issue to RTK corrections.

10cm would be fine with me
Be good to know how to truth accuracy

Is that 10 cm for absolute accuracy or pass-to-pass? Actually neither way it does not give room for cheaper receivers.

You'll get 20 to 30 cm pass-to-pass accuracy with an Egnoss capable receiver but the absolute accuracy would still be of the order of 1 metre. Improving from there asks for some paid correction signal (e.g. Trimble rangepoint) or RTK (RTK can be free from your own base).

Some members here advertise better than 20 cm accuracy but check their equipment and check what their manufacturer specs say.
