Broadway Star Performance 2021

Performance has been utterly pants on Sterile brome this year. Previous years it kills most of them, but always leaves a few stunted plants to return seed and continue the cycle.
This year there are healthy plants all over the crop.
Do I just put it down to the cold April allowing the brome to shrug it off? Should I ring the changes next year and go with Atlantis or Pacifica Plus?

I've been wanting to decouple BLW control from grassweed control anyway, with a view to dealing with BLW in one shot later on in the season with non-SU chemistry (we always seem to have to go back late season and clear up thistles and fumitory, etc. and I'd like to avoid SU's as the residues seem to hold back my OSR and cover crops.)

Any thoughts much appreciated

I think it's the weather, in my opinion all SU's need good growing conditions and this year we haven't had them.
I didn't bother using Broadway star et al this year but have had poor results from Thor/taxi(tribenuron) and also ally max although where I've used ally max with mcpa it's nuked the lot. There's a lot of merit in the old school hormones.

Ps brome does seem to be becoming a bigger problem, it's a light land black grass and where it was once confined to the first couple of yards around the edge of fields it's now found right across them.

I put bws on about a fortnight ago and had a huge downpour four hours later. Thought it had been ruined. But pleasing sadness of thistles and ryegrasses......although I was going through with the axial when I noticed this. Still, betted dead than in the seedbed.

What wetter did you use? Maybe you need to plough occasionally 😀!
