Dealer excuses

I've been waiting for my "new to me" telehandler to be delivered for nearly 7 weeks. There was a few jobs I wanted doing before I took delivery, including work on the AC. The dealer is making excuses that because of Brexit, spares from France are taking an age to come to the UK. They suggested that even JCB is affected.
Are they making excuses? Has anyone else been affected?

Waiting on a part for my Navara since 14th April. Was told it was on back order and will be here in 2 weeks time. Spoke to them on Friday and it’s now due 4th June.

heard of lots of other parts / materials held up in the supply chain

Machines aren’t an issue however parts consignments are as I am sure certificates of origin are required which is a minefield for spares as they can originate from all over the globe. This is a UK customs issue not one the EU have created. Odd that we seem to be letting foodstuffs in very easily but exports of UK food are problematic. Levelling up required I think.

New car put back from May to June due to semi conductor shortage for certain optional extras. Will be one of the last made with these options for a while apparently

Do you know what parts they are waiting for? i bet money on it they are on a stock order which wont be helping as they will want to keep there costs down, if the parts are out of stock at manitou france and they are on a stock order you could be waiting ages. Also IF someone else puts an order in on a VOR for the same part they will get priority over the stock order!

Not unbelievable. Worldwide shipping of many goods right now is f**ked up due to covid, and brexit will not help at all. Pretty much the worst time for brexit to happen, not that it was going to be easy in the first place, but there you go. Probably would have been a better idea to scrap the thing for five years and figure out which head wants pulling out of which ass and all that... but... well. it's buggered now and... well.. it's buggered.
