Morning all.
Has anyone had experience of these. I have seen a few older but tidy looking ones for sale. They appear to have a powered collector, electric height control and, on some, power steering. Also a JCB badged varient.
Thanks

There's lots of electric on them which weren't the most reliable.
plus that engine whilst being good is a horrible noisy thing

For 1500 pounds what would you recommend, its 3 relatively small lawns a total of 50mX50m cut weekly during the growing season. I collect the grass for the first 10feet then I blow the rest out the back, blowing the grass out the back fertilizes the lawns.

Im quite happy to purchase a SH machine.

Good big tyres please as can be a bit soft in the spring time.

A machine that can get in close to the kerbs please so Im not leaving anything after me, which needs me to get a strimmer or a push mower to cut the corners.

Any of the recognised brands will do the job really. Go for a direct collect and hydrostatic drive

Plenty of new ride-on mowers about at that budget that will do your job, but they will be domestic machines, but as long as it is tidy lawn type areas, they will last several years with regular oil changes and keep the deck and blades working well.

I did a amenity and churchyard grass cutting contract using an existing cheap and nasty American mower I had for the lawns here. Worked fine for the 4 years I had the job, and kept on going afterwards. Might have been LawnKing or very similiar...

BHow big a deck do you want/need?

got a countax here a couple of months ago 18hp honda engine , bought it with gearbox fault , new hydrostatic box fitted and the mowers cost me a grand , would buy the same again as you see plenty in sales going cheap enough but cost in the factor of a new gearbox , a westfield is near enough the same mower .

Thanks for the advice.

Does direct collect mean the grass is sent to the grass collector via a tube underneath the drivers seat, rather than a big long tube out around the side.

Either. As long as grass is blown into the box rather a sweeper unit behind.
up under the seat is most common
