Aye men to that, I’ll start crapping myself when social media has calories and people can eat iPhones till then I’m still needed
Not sure what arrest is or if we are allowed to use it over here, we have pour on fly control products for cattle and they all have one thing in common, they don't fecking workBacklined with a pour on for flies. Product like arrest. Gives 6 weeks protection. Just dont rub your face or eyes if you get any on your hands......I can attest to how painful that is...
The good thing is now is actually a good time to be widening our trading platform. The world is growing more rapidly in these southern hemisphere areas and also global costs are catching up with everyone, China is no longer a cheap alternative for labour etc, shipping costs are rising and so let's get stuck into trade deals and forget old mother Europe as our only cow to milk (or be milked)
Thanks for posting that, the main joy to me of tff is info sharing. Post it on the beef price tracker thread if you would please.
You are welcome, i thought it might cheer up a beef farmer or twoThanks for posting that, the main joy to me of tff is info sharing. Post it on the beef price tracker thread if you would please.
I cant help but think china's ongoing battle with swine flu is a lesson to farmers that animals shouldnt be kept on an industrial scale.

Foot and mouth hit herds of all sizes. The African swine fever operates the same way. You will have the same amount of dead stock, but some locations will have bigger piles. Thanks for posting that, the main joy to me of tff is info sharing. A very young Mel Gibson?Malcom was a good funny film as well !
So all you winging about the costs and hassle of RT inspections and all the other inspections, eid ,passports, etc are talking through your ass, according to this guy there's no cost to it . It's just an excuse.

A general comment, not specifically at you.A free trade agreement will help the cause for nonsense like red tractor to be scrapped. I don't think I have excessively moaned about Rt, obviously it's a ball ache, but not the end of the world
Im not so sure, look at humans and covid . Those of us spread out in the countryside havent spread it half as bad as those living like chickens in a coop in the big cities.Foot and mouth hit herds of all sizes. Calves are all backlined at same time when tagged during summer. So yeah, looks like our standards are better....
Most calves here will be tagged at marking time (weaning) otherwise they lose tags from their little soft lugs and need retagged anyway.
The number of matagouri bushes and chain-mesh gates with eid tags is incredible, start a good cheap herd of them but they just don't seem to get fat ever doing them in the autumn means less heat and blood and flies
A free trade deal should be a given especially with a commonwealth partner. I really can't see any disadvantages.

I've watched Aussie gold hunters .... them flies are feekers .Ok. First point. Only backlined for flies during summer (warmer months(. Flies are not a problem at the moment as it's to cold for them.
Now on to feedlots. EVERY local shire has rules around the size of a feedlot before it can go ahead / expand exponentially. If hits not approved it doesn't happen. Simple. These rules cover welfare standards, environmental standards, noise and odours impacts on neighbors , traffic movements, road conditions etc etc. I can not go out and start a 6000 head feedlot in my back paddock just because I feel like it.
To the article. How the hell is a feedlot ANY FRIGGEÑ different to housing cattle or stupid bloody sheep for 9 months of the year?? Seriously?? What's the difference??? Do you open the shed door so they can see a blade of green grass??? That's just whipping up hysteria for the sake of it. Same as saying "cheap meat" ....... Try buying cattle here atm "cheaply". And finish them in a feedlot on a grain ration at over $300/ tonne.
Chicken little stuff. Nothing more.
