Australia Free Trade Deal?

I dont enjoy eating beef lately tbh, its either tough , tastless or both. It seems to find a nice half decent piece of beef you need to home slaughter or pay a high premium for farm shop type meat which isnt always a premium eat. Most beef eaten out is smothered in sauces so people cant taste the beef anyway.

Sounds very impressive. I guess when they have built their government funded abattoir they won't have to transport them 1250km to slaughter any more.😉.
And exactly where does it say in that article that the government have funded their abattoir build? Or is it just to plain hard for you to comprehend that farming can exist without being subsidized... Or do you just magically see words that you want to see that no one else can...

At the end of the day no business in the world wants anything imported into their country which will drive the price down and cause them financial hardship.

I know what your saying.....

But a trade deal is just that. A deal. Not a one way street. And competition trumps complacency......
Alot of uk beef is tastless rubber because we uk farmers have been driven by rules and price to produce fast finishing animals on unnatural diets. Feedlot foreign beef is just as tastless
Competition will lift the mark.

The secret is to cook it low and slow so it just melts in your mouth. Totally different to cooking steak.

Listening to an Australian trade negotiator on the radio, it sounds like they can't believe their luck. Liz Truss's opening position was apparently better than they had apparently hoped for, so just more or less agreed to it. Particularly as Australia doesn't have any serious tariffs, dropping them counts for very little. They think the 10/15 year phasing in is Boris's real win, as he gets all the glory of claiming a quick deal but he will be long gone by the time the real pain and damage hits. :banghead:

I dont know why people get so excited about feedlots, there will be loads of stock in a slatted pen for up to 8 months of the year in many parts of the UK. The UK always bangs on about our world leading welfare and production standards but the simple truth is they arent we just think they are.
I know nothing about slats having never used them but I do think you can provide high welfare inside

Not that article, one that Google pops up (sorry, haven't figured how to post links) mentions a NAIF Aus$24million loan.

The penny is starting to drop with them!,the x amount of tons of beef that use to come here might have to find a new home

Australia’s biggest feedlot. Note almost every pen has a shade shelter (I’m assuming it was a work in progress and they all do now). No shade shelter in the U.K. one. Does this mean Aus standards are higher?

If I thought that was the only way I could eat beef, I would become vegetarian. It's just a concentration camp for cows.

I don’t see why their is animosity toward large feed lots , feed one or feed a million same deal for the beast , I think some of you be surprised the size of some finishing places here , 10000 not unheard of per year , I’ve no idea why they want to be that big and I couldn’t be botherd with that myself but if that’s what they want crack on imo
