Our landlord has asked that we provide these electrical checks and certificates as our tenancy says we have to keep ' electrical systems in good tenantable order'. However this is the landlords responsibility in residential rentals. Has anyone been asked to provide one as a tenant?

Yes we have, and we have done the electrical checks for the farmhouse, and now it needs work!, also a couple of cottages that go with the farm. We have also had to go round the farm buildings as well, and they all need work!

Last quote a few years ago for here was upwards of £8k for a small farm yard. If it rains a lot of the sheds go off, with freezers and fridges in them 😭 Unsure if it is up to us or the landlord on an FBT but we get our electrician in for small work..
