How long do you spend preparing for RT audit?

OK I know theres been a hundred threads about RT but.....

Is it just me, or does the preparation for a crops audit take un reasonable time and effort.
Saturday Afternoon, and today will be spent on 8 hrs of paperwork.
Over the year, i have tried to work out the time required, which i now estimate takes between 50 and 70 man days per year, just to prepare all the stores, paperwork, machinery, records, etc.

i dont do stress and anxiety very well, and this has become so burdensome its very very serious now.

Difficult to say. I try and keep up the paperwork as I go through the year, and keep the yards / sheds tidy as I go too. I go through the same ritual of getting the MOT and Norso number from an astonished spray contractor every year. Journey off to find somewhere to dispose of spent chem drums. Ordering a moisture meter calibration sample. It all mounts up....

2 weeks work at an estimate ?

It stresses the hell out of me and I do stuff and paperwork throughout the year.they could turn up now and I’d have no issues until they start treating me like an idiot.only had one very reasonably helpful man a few years back and been considerable worse since.chap I had last year died so new interrogator this year and due any time.it will keep worrying me till it’s over.it can’t be good for anyone’s mental health.

Totally unreasonable. I think your estimate is more than fair. It’s criminal that we are coerced by cartel to join. Wait until we have to do the mass balances too 😡

You arable boys have it easy.
Dairy processors force you to be RT compliant as a condition of our supply contracts. Fail your RT, you’re out (in theory) unless compliant within 28 days

I forgot to attend the moisture meter clinic which would have been half a day in itself and a gallon of fuel.
Instead I was busy doing something trivial like getting my T1 on or repairing a machine.
I’d estimate it takes about a fortnight extra per year of faffing about over and above the basic minimum legal requirements we have to meet anyway.

It’s the fact there is no discernible financial reward that bugs me. No premium, no bonus, nothing. Nobody has ever even asked to see any of my records or taken any notice of my retained samples or readings in all time I’ve been a member maybe 30 years. All that matters is the sample at intake just like the non assured foreign grain. Anyway, I’d better not start. It’s a nice day. Don’t want to ruin it with thoughts of RT.

This is absolutely true. I urge everyone who feels like that to write to their MP, any journalist that might listen, anyone and everyone at the Nfu and anyone else they can think of. I have, but weight of opinion can only help to bring about change and make RT optional.

Just had mine booked in for the 2nd week of July 🙈
I’ll time myself this year just to see how long it takes to compile all the recorded info
