Best post emergence spray for new grass ley

As per question really. Have a few docks, thistles, buttercups (seem to be everywhere this year!) and what I think is a little bit of redshank.

What's the best clover-safe product to hit them. Ley is approx 5 weeks and not too far off being ready to graze.

Only field I ever sprayed which red and white clover survived was with headland triad (tablets) and sprayed at night, presumably sleeping clover takes less chemical than awake clover? Did 2 other patches with same mix and killed 95% of clover.

I know a fellow that sprays his grass fields at night for that very reason,he reckons the clover is curled up and won’t absorb the chemicals. He swears that it works. Never tried it myself because my contractor prefers to work during the day!!

Feasible to do with GPS guidance these days too, else it's two family members, each with a torch, on the headlands as markers guides! ;)

Iv`e heard of folk sowing grass seeds without clover in the Autumn. Giving the weeds a good blast with hurler or similar late back end or early spring. Then sow clover seeds after that.
Not sure how successful it is. Probably dependant on the weather playing ball

how unreasonable of your contractor.........it’s Sod’s law, last yr we did an endrig of red clover pre silage with clover safe spray and it nailed the clover good and proper. This year did an endrig of docks with minstrel and the clover had a headache but was fine 🤷‍♂️

Just a thought but contractor has got my fields mapped in the gps on his Bateman, does that mean he could spray in the dark without the need to see where he was going now?
Wether he would want or be willing to is another matter.
That said his sprayer looks to be equipped with some pretty hefty LED’s so visibility shouldn’t be a problem anyway

We’ve started to use half rate pasturemaster on our reseeds, initial results look good and might get repeated again in the autumn if necessary, we’ve done similar in established grass at night as well, I’ve not fully assessed that field yet
