EU sausage war

Got a bit of ham from tesco chilled cabinet last night for my pack up today - dicing with death I told the check out lass. Dicing with death.

I noticed the East Europeans on the spud grading line now do not eat chilled meat products from Tesco in Holbeach - they have had emails from back home in EU land telling them it is not safe in the UK. One Lithuanian lad showed me the official EU email - safe until June 30th then that is it - any UK chilled product is designed to kill EU nationals. The lad was taking it seriously and he is now only buying chilled meats from the umpteen Eastern European grocery shops in Grantham. And his mum is sending him chilled meats direct from Lithuania.

might be the best thing if the EU don't allow our food in then we stop theirs as well. Forces us to think about food security and gear up home food production. Probably result in a healthier population anyway.

Make no difference. This dispute nothing to do with my Melton Pork Pie for my friend in Londonderry. (I have yet to declare his political allegiance or way he voted in 2016). This is about a proxy war in a far away land that no one knows much about but is providing a useful place to fight to the death. Napoleon and Mutti and the Ursus Minor woman will understand, Billy Bunter too. Pity my poor pork pie being used as a weapon. Hey ho. The french peasant and his mates will be back on in a while to defend the actions of the EU as will the UK side. In meantime as a neutral in any proxy war finds out - one has no friends. Looks as though my friend will have to come to mainland GB to savour a pork pie - or ironically go to Dublin where my pork oie can go because of course it will have passed the appropriate phytosanitary checks a it is entering true EU land. But to another part of my country - oh no, oh no, as that part is now EU land. Alsace Lorraine anyone. 5 year old kindergarten kids with fancy education and multi lingual - to..ers the lot. I do enjoy a rant. Cheers.

You ignore the salient fact, that even after the USA chlorine policy, their food poisoning rate is 70 times higher than in Europe.
Yes so it is claimed but that's just a sound bite attention grabbing headline, it may be true but may not be, where is the contamination occurring for instance, on farm, in transport in processing, in storage , in restaurants or in homes ?

that appears to be untrue

Nigel Sheinwald, a former UK ambassador to Washington and the EU, said: “The lesson of this week is that you can’t have a global Britain which is genuinely respected and influential and impactful around the world if people doubt your basic bona fides.”

'Referring to a document signed at the summit by Johnson and US president Joe Biden, Sheinwald added: “There is no point in writing new Atlantic charters which depend on mutual trust, mutual confidence and the rule of law, when you are operating as chancers"

I would agree the EU are chancers, that's obvious. Then we have the IMF run by a convicted criminal.

Surely this constructed conflict will end with the mother of all BBQs.
As opposed to burning barricades.
Let us hope so, otherwise the rather coarse gaming played by Bungling and co will be a sad reflection on their contempt for the residents of Northern Ireland and the wider island of Ireland.

Biden has a deep interest in his Irish heritage, and has visited several times. You can be certain he knows a damn sight more about Ireland and it’s history, than pretty much any of the Etonian Billy Bunter types, who ultimately threw NI under the bus, in their rush to get on board the leaky ship Global Britain.
Biden heralds from Sussex .

I suppose Edwin may as well send Joe a copy when he is at the Post Office

DUP Leader Edwin Poots MLA has written to Emmanuel Macron and attached a copy of the Belfast Agreement with the relevant section about Northern Ireland’s constitutional status highlighted.

Mr Poots said,

“Emmanuel Macron’s suggestion that Northern Ireland is not part of the United Kingdom is offensive and demands a statement from the French administration which recognises Northern Ireland’s constitutional status.

This also exposes the ignorance which lies at the heart of the EU. They seem blind to the destruction the Protocol has caused to the Belfast Agreement.

Its five years since the referendum. Northern Ireland has been centre stage for most of that time yet the most powerful man in one of the most powerful EU countries still doesn’t realise that Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. It’s incredible.

Key leaders in the European Union clearly do not even understand the basics let alone the finer details.

It is time for the Government to stop talking about fixes to the Protocol and get on with taking the necessary steps to remove it.”

Who ran rings round your lot.
I see Biden put Boris in his place ,No US trade deal until the Protocol is sorted and the GFA is paramount.

Do you ever consider the disrespect the EU Leaders and now Biden and the US administration show for 17.4 million British citizens who voted to leave the EU. Biden now as well as Macron, Merkel et al are showing no respect at all for those within the UK who voted to Leave. And won the referendum. You may well disagree with them but they should be respected - right or wrong.

Irrespective of how I personally voted, I am finding this totally abhorrent.

No reply and rebuttal required as I appreciate you are in the same camp.
