Puma clutch Pack failure

Well that scuppers my plan to buy replacement to puma..

Mid silage clutch pack E is failing..

This one requires cab off n split.. nightmare.
Is it cheaper to build back up or replace entire pack pre assembled? Is there such a thing as an oven ready pack?

Oh and its now raining and drive shaft uj on pit loader has failed..

I think this is the joy of owning and running kit. Doesnt matter what colour or make you have, some will be close to the dream and only require diesel and oil changes; and theres machines that cannot go a month without something failing. Even new stuff fails.

Is it a range command or power? I think E pack is the last one and requires everything pulling apart.

Under what circumstances did it go? You want to make sure you haven't got a solenoid sticking or failing that's caused this problem.

There's a company that will overhaul it if you send the box to them, they were in Profi and advertising on Ebay but I can't remember the name now 🤔

We had a gorgeous pottinger 6010 combiline harvester on demo and we notice slippage in top gear.
Going to do a recalibration tomorrow and try to finish silage with our lighter europrofi 4500..but the omens are not good..she's done 10k hours and a b packs done recently..

I'll try to save some loot by using own labour to split tractor if engineer is happy and go from there. Thankyou for suggestion..even if you couldn't remember the name!

You recently had the transmission out because of a problem and only stripped/rebuilt some of it? Or does the B pack not require, cab off tractor split?

Is that the full power shift gearbox?

Think it was low range that failed on ours. They did medium and high when they were in there. Think it cost 7k total. Done by main dealer
I've heard it'd be the same to sort out all packs on a Cvx too. Service manager said that the packs are quite cheap but the amount of work to get there is expensive, so if one pack fails it'd be best to replace them all.

Just as general info, if anyone finds this thread on google it would be wise to atleast ask for the price difference of doing 1 pack vs doing all packs.

3 months ago. B pack failed. This required split infront of the cab. Easy peasy. A n B fixed But cost 4500..E requires cab off.. split from rear axle and various other auxiliary services..totally different operation and more complex. :cry:

Thanks, makes sense now.
So once this repairs done you should be fairly confident in the transmission for a while. If you think the engines in good shape, it might be worth keeping round for another 3 or 4 thousand hours. It probably wont lose much in value over that time?

Well yes and no.. I like the tractor..

She's done 12k hours. But engine is sound. With little oil use and no leaks. Fuel use is low for the output. However tyres need replacing at approx 3000 for a set. So potentially 8 to 10k cost for getting her up n running again..plus I'll be without a tractor for some time...

Decision time pending as we finished silage today using odd gears only!!
