The Northern Ireland Protocol is not unlawful, Belfast High Court has ruled, rejecting an argument by the leaders of unionism that it breaches the Act of Union and the Belfast Agreement.

Billy the flour miller in NI, is expanding capacity to keep Pat the baker in ROI supplied. Protocol or no protocol Billy is doing more and more business with Pat.
Meanwhile @Ashtree having priced around for a kit shed for machinery, is expecting delivery next Tuesday from Armagh. My contractor is agitating my slurry as we speak, with an agitator made in NI and delivered direct from there only yesterday. The delivery truck was loaded with equipment for ROI farmers in Kerry and Cork.
It really is an all island economy. Brexit has simply underpinned that fact.

So I've a friend growing some spuds. the border runs down the field. the gate to the field is in the RoI but the farm yard is in NI.

so if we have a land border
does he need a export cert for the spuds that he dig in NI but have to go in to the EU(RoI) to get out of the field
does he need to wash the spuds as we found out the EU don't let soil into there country
on that note does he need to wash the tractor and get a vet cert every time he crosses the border

luck the Brexters keep telling us we don't need a border it the EU problem, so he have no problem bringing them to his yard, and if the duty is less on RoI derv he make sure to fill the tractor every time he crosses, why pay TAX

and that just one small 6A field, now work out how hard it will be for a 300 mile border

I find that a bit puzzling. The border is along the county boundaries. The counties were divided into parishes, and parishes into townlands. Each townland boundary around here is marked by a hedge or a river, and cannot be removed. Even if you were permitted to remove a townland boundary, what heathen would have so little respect for their historical value they they would destroy the physical marker?

He will have no problem with spuds they can go to any Eu contry or into GB the only problem will be if he wants to bring in seed from Scotland cant bring them into NI

There are umpteen farms and farm yards straddling the border from what I have seen on a plethora of RTE documentaries over the years.
Prime Time for example. Not known for sensationalism or makey uppy facts.
