Yes it is just, on a DM basis. But are those moist blends really 13 or 13.5 ME? Sounds to good to be true
That's a good question. But you can say the same thing about any Dry Blend, just because its dry it doesn't mean its exactly what it says on the tin, your wheatfeed, maize distillers, rapemeal etc. are just as variable as your brewers grains, processed bread or Syrups. I've tested plenty of samples of all the above. All these feeds are rigorously tested. Companies cant get away with miss labeling products anymore, they will get hanged for that.
The only true measure really is proof in the pudding and the response in the cows is the proof i find. I would say that about any feed. But concerning these moist feeds cows respond very well to them, improved fertility is usually a direct response not only from the feed but also from the increased intakes.

You obviously feed them and find good results by the looks.
Do you cover the stuff when it turns up or don’t you bother?

i don't, but i do nutrition and just try to give unbiased opinion from personal experience of what i see in the industry. This platform i find really good for that, people arent forced to take my opinion, but its there for anyone that finds it useful.
but to answer your question with these moist feeds. It very much depends on how quickly you are going to use it. up to 4 weeks on farm you only really need to compact it down with a bucket to get the air out of it , when you scoop them up they are still quite friable. Over 4 weeks i would do the same process and then sheet it and cover with tires or heavy mats. i know plenty of farmers who go through a load every couple months and the last scoop isnt far off the same as they day it was delivered. Same applies to Processed bread and brewers grains. Except you cant compact brewers, its becoming more popular to cover them with moist citrus pulp, makes a nice mix and reduced the butterfat suppression you get form the high oil content.

Hi I used selco plus in 2005 . The folowing time they calve many many cows held clensings took several years to sort it out. Take care is my advice.

what is in selco plus
Selco Plus is Sedagold Syrup and Wheatfeed Mixed together. it is ForFarmers equivalent to Trafford Gold. Main difference is that it is 45%DM and 18%CP because the Sedagold Syrup is slightly wetter and has less protein than the Trafford Syrup used for Traffprd gold.

Anybody have a idea how much per litre liquid feed is?
That’s a bit vague, assume you mean molasses type things? Back in September prices where hovering either side of £200/ton depending what it was. Will nearly sure be more now.
Edit - roughly 800l in a ton. So your probably looking at about 30p/l mark at a guess.y prices above where based on ten ton drops though.

Liquid feed is hard to compare as there is some pretty deliberate obfuscation as to what they contain and in what quantities with some measured by weight, volume or as a %.
Cheap can be horrible watered down rubbish and expensive stuff can be well marketed liquid out the same tank. You really need to do your homework.
