Basis and nroso

i thought it was the case that if you were on the Basis professional register (50 points per year) that Nroso would automatically accept those points as good enough for them. Its worked like that up till this year, but now nroso are asking for a separate points tally for them, anyone else having this problem ?

Yes also having this problem. Struggling to get any useful answer out of them. I’ve never had to get nroso points since being basis.

So it looks like a change of policy ?
seems crazy to collect points twice and in a pandemic
from the vague answers I’ve had from them (which they take ages to answer ) I’m not sure they really know
The old system of points carryover from basis seemed absolutely fine

What if we all have them the universal f*ck off and refused to pay membership
I have.
They, along with many others, rely on you complying with their silly little rules and regulations that they constantly change to keep the fear levels high enough for you all to comply.
It is a money making scam and not much more. A scam where through the covid pandemic they are all on furlough taking the money and then penalising its members (who carried on working) for not collecting the points at non existent events. Even more ridiculous is their rule that when you fail to gain the points during the pandemic they then ban you for a year on top.

BASIS
I never realised basis points could be used instead of nroso, I've asked the question several times and have always been told I sti need nroso points aswell as basis/FACTS

My argument has always been that basi points trump nroso, I've certainly learnt more from gaining my 50 basis points than I ever have attending a half day catch-up for 10 nroso points.

I asked the numpty I spoke to at BASIS if they were in any position of responsibility and if not could I speak to someone who was.
He said that (paraphrasing) he was running the show.
I had a blast at him about how ridiculous it was all getting.
He literally could not have cared less. I’m pretty sure he was busy doing something else while I spoke and I could almost hear him yawning.

I send my annual BASIS certifcate to them (assuming I stay on the BASIS register) and get ten points per year for the certificate. This gives you 30 points over the three years wthout specific NROSO points. BASIS points are not NROSO points and are not interchangeable. It worked this year!

Events that give BASIS points often carry NROSO points as well, I've always signed both forms to collect both sets of points. If you look at what points an event is worth for each scheme it seems to me it is completely random. An event about selecting fungicides can carry loads on NROSO points but only 1 BASIS point. Then another event about spray application may only have 1 NROSO point but loads for BASIS. Who decides what event is worth so many point for each scheme? It really does baffle me.

What a complete waste of time, lets just have fertiliser and pesticide taxes like they do in Denmark so we don't have to waste our one and only lives on this stuff.
