Zero standing charge tariff electricity

After an hour chatting to the "bot" then someone who claimed to be human I got to the point where I was told all tariffs have a standing charge.

I was then told my standing charge was 0.000! Having asked if I could renew on the same basis I was told I could so I told em to get on with it.

Pretty impressed, it only took an hour and a quarter......

I would like something similar. I have about 10 levies and standing charges on my bill with very little kWh used. Also a massive charge for capacity available which we do need.

Hi, I wonder if H.J. Carter would kindly share the name of their energy supplier? I’ve been searching for a zero standing charge supplier without any results. Many thanks.

Its British gas.

I go transferred to them last year when prev supplier went bump - the tarrif got transferred at same time and was until end July this year.

British gas started off by saying I could not extend current tariff past end of July however after some on line arguing they seem to have agreed to continue it.

I have transcript of exchange with British gas agreeing the renewal but the proof will be when the old tariff ends at the end of this month.

To be honest I have low expectations...

I should think that a no standing charge supply would only be beneficial if you’re using next to no electricity as the price per kw will be much higher. We were paying 40 something pence per day few years ago with GB Energy but getting it for about 12-13p per kw which was working out better for us per year. That tariff was gone in twelve months though!!

Thanks for the info.

We were with Ebico … We'll have to have a go and see what happens,..

Low expectations of British Gas seem like a sensible precaution in any case.

Spoke to Utilita this afternoon, they do a 0.00 standing charge tariff - first 2kwh per day are 30p remainder are 18p.

Called me straight back after I requested a call back so useful service so far.
