Is it me or does the draw bar look too short? Looks like you can’t turn very tight without fouling the rear tractor wheels. Might just be angle of photo.

I suspect it will mainly be a mobile catching pen with calving gate / yoke although it will be used around the village for halter walking up to six and I may choose to move small mobs locally.

Mainly it will save me lifting , carrying, setting up, dismantling, lifting, carting and stacking heavy hurdles in the future

The drawbar is extendable, set short at the moment so I can get the shed door shut!
Final length to be confirmed and excess trimmed off when Jeremy gets here with his tractor and has a shunt around with it.

As P just said , the drawbar is left long until I bring my tractor. I've a bale trailer with fixed jack and can still tow it with my quick hitch A-frame on the links raised high and want to do the same with this one

Narrow lanes and tight gateholes may be a bit of a problem but maybe @JP1 doesn't have any.

Not a bad idea though I wonder how difficult it will be to get cattle into it the second time, heel jamming prevention will be key for moving them about anywhere.

I move a lot of cattle back and forth across a road and it is a lengthy PITA with the Ifor 3 cows at a time, I am watching with interest.

Think droving wagon would be a pretty close translation.

Fair enough about the cringe, but it’s about as English a word as you can get - been used here since the Middle Ages, (although does have origin in Latin so technically it is foreign if you back far enough).

Ironically, the word “herd” comes from the German word “herde” and the word flock is also of Germanic origin (“vlocke”)….

It is but it’s mainly a kiwi term when referring flocks and herds , British terminology is flocks and herds as you all know so why use terminology of new Zealand ? Sends a cold shiver down my spine urgh !

I was a bit disappointed that @JP1 had a drawbar fitted, I thought that he would be pushing it around the lanes of Suffolk by hand like the chap with the sheep above. It would have made an interesting video at any rate.
