Cattle eating animals wayIn what way?
You're still buying a soya product. The grower and deforester both benefit from your purchase.Oats and beans and barley grow.
edit: Anyway, we don't feed soya, we feed soya meal. Nothing wrong our side of the farm gate. 'the answer to UK livestock sustainable' is relocalization in the food chain.

I though you were all in favour of a local food system???Brewers grains, Trafford Gold, citrus pulp, bread, potatoes, soya meal.

This is another issue that the "get rid of all cattle and sheep" crowd conveniently overlook: all of those are byproducts of a human food (or drink) product which are given an economic value by feeding them to livestock. What would happen to them without livestock? AD? What would their value be then? What impact would that have on the human food product they are derived from?I though you were all in favour of a local food system???
Worst case I suppose they would be spread back on the fields. This is another issue that the "get rid of all cattle and sheep" crowd conveniently overlook: all of those are byproducts of a human food (or drink) product which are given an economic value by feeding them to livestock. Which would use as much fossil fuels as feeding to livestock so that element is neutral.Worst case I suppose they would be spread back on the fields.
Spread soya meal back on fields and the soy oil would have to be 3 or 4 times the price for the crop to add up.....Worst case I suppose they would be spread back on the fields.
Not so sure, wouldn't cattle and sheep eat lots of insects anyway ?No , it’s the next BSE in waiting .
Agreed, I feel the same about fish meal too. They already worries insects are in decline , start messing about with them and feeding them to animals that don’t eat them naturally dosent seem right to me.
Cattle eat the odd bit of sheep and rabbit sh!t too, that doesn't mean you can start feeding them on it.Not so sure, wouldn't cattle and sheep eat lots of insects anyway ?
Don't tend to see them sorting through every bit before they chomp on it to make sure they are not eating the odd bug of some sort
