thistle and dock spray

What would you say is the best and most cost efficient spray to control thistles and docks in grass land?
Is there any thing that is clover safe?

Had good results with polo headland this year, great on thistles, soft rush and docks.

Not clover safe though

It's for ground that has been cut, can just see young plants.
Want to stop them before they get out of control

Clover is just collateral damage. No way round it. You've got to choose, who do you want to live?

I have just done mine with a cheap dose of Compitox. I know it's not the hottest stuff but it will soon be autumn now. Rather hit it hard in the growing season next year if it needs it .

I have heard thistlex with a glug of fluroxypyr is quite effective but not too cheap. Want them to be growing fresh rather than stale and gone to seed.

Spot spray them with roundup.
