The Vet will have to do a visit to prescribe so it will be a minimum of £75.00
Think you want too find a new vets 😂 I rang my vet up, had a crack with him for half hour about the sheep trade atm and wool price, then 20 minutes on his house move and 30 seconds on why I wanted a prescription and he emailed it over the next morning no charge 🤦‍♂️

This sounds like our old vets practice. Good vets but dear drugs, were bought out by a corporate. Drugs went even dearer. Up too £28/30 for alamycin and Betamox.
Two best vets fell out with management and were approached by another corporate too set up within the area of the other practise as equal partners. We moved straight away and my drug bill dropped by 2/3 over night! Old practise sent me a letter and rang up trying too be snotty about me moving and how they could match the drug prices. They were told too sling their hooks, if they could afford too match now, why had they been shafting me for years previously??

but without the competition this just doesn’t happen!

if I want a prescription it’s £24 plus vat. But nowadays they sell the stuff that keen I don’t need one anymore.
bloody sharp on vaccines and wormers too!!

Vets no longer will issue a prescription unless they have visited the farm and that class of stock recently. We don't have the luxury of a choice of Vets as most only do cats and bunnies.
There seems to be an awful lot of Zolvix used by Forum members.I thought that the BVA were telling people to use it sparingly as it was the wormer of last resort? What happens when it is resistant and ineffective?

Just to put it out there I don’t always follow the advise of “professionals”

Your vet is ripping you off .

Possibly so but no choice.
However they don't charge for completing the RT documentation. Whereas my neighbour who is with one of the large Corporates was charged £600 for the same stuff and signing off the Health plan.
They are also good at helping out with TB testing and don't overcharge for the odd call out.

When you have so few Vets then they can charge what they like!

I’d say an hours reasonable from call to arrival on a night call so depends what the roads and the like are could be a fair distance from practice
