Clear sky & 17 here at the moment with a high of 20 later but unsettled forecast from this afternoon to at least Monday.

Forecast - 24 hours (weather and hazard summary)

A mostly dry and bright start this morning with sunny spells, but cloud amounts will increase as the day progresses with showery rain spreading in from the south and west later this afternoon. Outbreaks of rain and showers are likely to continue this evening, with some heavy and thundery rain possible for a time with hourly rainfall totals reaching 10-15mm locally with some lightning strikes possible. The showers should clear from the south-west later this evening, becoming mostly dry overnight with just the odd shower.Unsettled tomorrow with heavy showers and thunderstorms becoming widespread as the day progresses. These showers are likely to bring hourly rainfall totals of 15-20mm, with more possible locally in the heaviest downpours across northern parts of East Anglia (Norfolk and northern parts of Cambridgeshire). Fairly frequent lightning strikes are also likely. Locations affected by multiple showers could see 30mm within the 24hr period with the risk of localised flooding. Showers tending to ease and peter away through the evening and overnight.

Little change is expected from the unsettled weather on both Saturday and Sunday with low pressure bringing further heavy showers or thunderstorms. Within the heaviest downpours hourly rainfall totals of 15-20mm are likely on both days, with totals in excess of 20mm locally. Localised flooding will be possible, but confidence on the exact location of showers at this time is low. It looks to stay unsettled on Monday with further heavy showers, again these could bring high hourly rainfall totals and lightning.

Summer rainfall way above average this year.
18.5 mm yesterday.
March, April & May total: 116 mm

Then, June 106mm, July 111 mm

Forecast continues unsettled. Normally by now harvest woukd be about done, but this year very little wheat cut so far, and yields already looking poor due to dry spring followed by laid crops after summer storms. Won't be long before some sprouting starts.

You are a bundle of fun!!

I'm long retired, but I get it from my farming neighbour. Every year for the last 16 years I've discussed the harvest and yields with him and the response always ranges from 'Catastrophe' to 'Moyen'. This year the WB and OSR were described as 'Pas Mal - pour nous]. But the small amount of wheat that has been cut is 'Catastrophe'.

I'm sure that for a livestock farmer in your region it's an absolute relief to have green fields instead of the burnt swards of the last few summers.
