Looking into getting one, however nearly fell of me chair when first search found me ones at nearly a grand!!! Since found a few around the 300 mark which I could justify. Will not be needing it to start anything big, a few cars that don't move very often but when they do usually need a jump (battery stays connected for alarm etc) and a few vintage tractors that can take a bit of persuading when parked up a while! Hashing about with jump leads and wangling a second vehicle into position is all getting a bit old!!, plus might have to start two vehicles to get the one I need out!, so something I could pick up and take with me would be nice.

The 300quid version will do my job wont it?, its a SIP brand, 22Ah battery with 12v internal battery voltage and charge indicators, 840 amp cranking rate & 2500 amp boost peak rate??

Have you considered these, can get various power ratings, I’ve only got the 40 model but it started an old Massey the other day

It started the Manitou but I dont think thats anyware near that big ,,cant think of anything thats got a 6 ltr diesel to be honest unless it was american

Manitou is probably 4.4litre but then you got hydraulics and transmission to turn so not quite the same as just a engine on its own which will be how they rate these types of boosters in order to make them look good.

yeah i did that, i dont think the clamp was on earth good enough when i tried and i not had a dead machine since to try it on.
If you don't get a good connection it won't switch itself on. In the same way you can switch it on and touch the 2 clamps together and they are both dead.
It needs to read some sort of voltage to establish the polarity is correct before the clamps become live
