Making meat production illegal - yikes

You've heard about the lab-grown meat future that the Davos/WEF lot want for us. It seems a distant prospect to most of us. But maybe not. Like a co-ordinated pincer movement they are starting already to try to legislate against meat production. Making meat production ILLEGAL! So this is part of that aim - different string of the same bow - restrict/criminalise the meat production then we have no choice but lab-grown meat or whatever.

Already legislation has been proposed to ban keeping animals in Oregon & Colorado. Might not get through first time but the fact that such absurdity has reached that level of legislature is madness IMO, and disturbing.

In the UK Johnson is already talking about taking 30% of land out of food production - another string to the same bow? Same figure as Biden is using. So it IS connected and co-ordinated.

like everything, just wanting to move the means of production to big corporate entities who then milk the public for all they are worth.

As soon as these crazy ideas are out in the Public Domain they gain traction

think Veganism. Who’d heard of that 20 years ago
Think rewilding. Was that even a word ten years ago

So the website linked to me comes across as a bit sensationalist so I read the text of Oregon IP13.
It should be applauded by all here as it is intended to persecute neglect, abuse, and assault on animals.

There are several sections which clearly state: Any practice of good animal husbandry is not a violation of this section. As farmers I think we would be supportive of this as maltreatment (bad animal husbandry) is not acceptable. ORS 167.310 has a list of what is included in good animal husbandry which includes the docking of horses which doesn't fall in my definition of good animal husbandry (exceptions for medical reasons possible).
Additionally there is ORS 686.030 which defines the "Acts constituting practice of veterinary medicine".

Morrisons were selling whole Cornish octopuses for 39p each the other day.

It made me very angry that these creatures are being dumped for want of a better word. Don't catch them if there is NO market

Ergo, IF that is the way the government want us to go - ie massive reduction in farm animals - tell us now so I can get out of the job pdq.

What a time to be alive

sustainable food trust conference, one of the speakers said "we all know we need to eat less meat", no one picked it up, so this whole message is insidious, you would think the sustainable food trust attendees would realise the importance of ruminant based agriculture.
The man said less meat, not to remove it completely. Looking at the graph below from nutrition.org.uk 37% is quite a big chunk of the protein intake. Think the fishermen would love to sell more of their catch.

Don't get me wrong, I love my rare steaks and meat pies so won't be cutting it out of my diet completely, but balancing it with other proteins does not sound like a bad thing.

And I think we should not be in the slightest bit worried about eating too much meat, rather, eating too much sugar and refined grains. After all, it is diabetes (and other metabolic illnesses) that are killing us and will bankrupt the NHS. Refined wheat (as in white bread) causes the greatest insulin response of any food, so as a country we should cut back drastically on refined carbs, corn syrup etc and eat more veggies and meat.

Didn't want to imply I was there, I just used the quote you provided.
ok, if I was being a bit more truthful, farmer says " we all know we need to cut down on the amount of meat we eat for climate change", after I pointed that out, conference chair re phrases it to "we all need to cut down on the wrong type of meat, and not pasture fed meat" which I agree with.

Thanks for clarifying.

The sooner meat production is criminalised the sooner these idiots will realise that without animals the world will starve to death.

I'll keep producing it even if it's for our own consumption and I might just decide not to allow anyone else to have any.

I'll be alright Jack.
I think it more effective by far to let them starve. There's almost panic just now because supermarkets can't get deliveries of food that is plentiful. Until there are plenty of trucks and people queuing up for food that doesn't exist, farming will continue to be pressed by the idiots, all with full bellies of the cheap food we and others produce.

The thing is, we are constantly being told and ever more bluntly. A whole lot of farmers are refusing to listen, that's a serious problem.
