Bg Junior is working on a dairy in Ontario, a few weeks ago they had a massive fire. I asked if the wooden cattle buildings would be replaced with steel. Son had asked the same question, wood is cheaper as most steel is imported and there is not really a shortage of trees in Canada.

Wood would not be great for massive grain stores, so I can see why there’s so many bins. Sure MM has said on one of his videos that it would be too expensive to build machinery storage sheds,

The way they transport grain on the road also has a bearing. The hopper bottom 44 tonne payload needs an big auger to empty it so may as well have a bins

The JD artic was at his wife's parents farm that is about 6 hours away from his family farm. I think Mike and his wife have either bought or rented some ground near her parents that they are Farming in their own account rather than the family farm. He has also bought his own JD combine to harvest his crops with.

I know his family farm is about 40-45 thousand acres. Farming on a mega scale. Also lost an ideal combine to fire on one of his videos it shows it burning!

We shared a campground with Walters in Tribune (Kansas) when I was on the harvest run. Think they had 9 Axial Flows and a few quadtracs to run the grain carts, as well as a black Fendt 1042 (?) on cart that does the rounds on social media every so often. Also matching black Kenworth trucks on super B trailers. When their support crew of several campers and associated wives/mothers turn up on the campground they unhooked everyone else's electrical supplies to plug their own in and kind of took over the place. We cut later into the night than them though...... (only because our boss said we wouldn't quit until they did :ROFLMAO:)
As far as I know this was as far south as they went to start harvest, then working back north to finish with their own ground back in Canada. From the social medias it looks like they're also running a single NH combine this year.

A mate here who is from Canada and is friends with mike showed me some pictures and all I can say the combines won't be out of top gear, lots of it won't be harvested
I have seen Mikes video showing difference between their North and South crops.
Makes you wonder how a business can survive such a financial disaster.
Does your friend know if the farming Mitchell’s have other business interests which financially support the farming operation?

They are insured for it. Wont make a profit but won't make a loss either, unlike here when we get a drought we beg and borrow more to keep going as can't insure.

not asked about other ventures but he is trying to weather proof to a degree by buying and leasing land up north. Drought in the north too but nowhere near as bad
