Know of a mate 30mile south of here finished tonight, we should be finished the field we’re in atm by midnight then the plan is to shift 20miles west to other farm and cut 20ac before it rains in the morning 🥴🙈, just into house after spraying off spring barley in the dark as wind had dropped

Effing Drizzle is not helping, yesterday was the 1st day we did a whole day. Baler came in and could only do half of what was down as it was too damp and it’s going to rain today.

1300 out of 2000ha done. About 260ha wheat left to go. The rest is spring oats, spring wheat and winter beans.
there is masses of uncut fields in this area.
I think we’re doing okay, keep cutting, save quality and into Camgrain (when lorries are available!)
Some good yields and some fairly average.
fairly happy. Certainly pleased we have a low overhead system.

fast thinking you have the right idea ! Less is more

For every day I think "wow, if I'd kept on I'd have a big pile of dosh" my wife reminds me that I'd probably have had several heart attacks, or been medicated, or shed have left me. Got a nice, casual day on my brother's fendt with a set of 12m rolls on. Bank holiday weekend with the children. And I sleep at nights. Well, not the week before my "harvest" but it's so much better.
