1.3 million foreign workers have returned home mix of brexit and covid.

Lorry drivers
Chicken catchers
Rubbish collection
This list is long.

Hard work that the majority think they are just too good to do.
You cant blame the “ majority” for the stupidity of govt.
Who allowed millions of eastern europeans in back in 2004 to undercut wages?
Who paid excessive tax credits to people not to work?
Who then made those inmigrants unwelcome by brexit?
Answer
Blair, brown, and boris.

20 years of every kid going to uni to study waste of time degrees has made a generation of people who think they are far to good to do manual job.
Even before that.

Friend I went to school with was bright, really really bright, A's across the board the first year of GSCEs when an A was smart!

Went onto Oxford to study, saw him couple years after finishing at Uni but still had no job as he was over qualified for anything he applied for apparently.

I see Exeter Chiefs are looking for stewards for match days. You can even get a NVQ in showing people to their seats now!

Under cut wages?

NMW has resulted in some people being unemployable as they aren't worth even the minimum wage!

Uk population is higher than ever

we have more automation and mechanisation than ever

compared to 50yrs ago a much higher % of women work

if work used to get done and there was plentiful labour decades before the EU even existed what went wrong ?

something doesn’t add up here !

……… and we worry about what people will do in the future of robots etc !!!

When I was at school there might be an odd one or two good enough for university that you knew of. Now half the school expect to go. Rightly or wrongly.
The English dream goes like this. School as long as you can, Uni, get a job in office that you don’t know what you exactly do, rise to boss, f**k the pa and get a device, finally retire at 59 to your home in the Cotswolds and ride you push bike all day. 😂

Population growth.

People don't want to do even their own menial tasks such as
mow the lawn-have a gardener
Clean the house-have a cleaner
Clean the car-take to the valeters

They then go out and spend on recreation which in turn needs more people to run around after them while they drink their Starbucks take minutes to make not seconds.

Buying time =more jobs for people that aren't there to do them.

Of course no one wants to work before 9 or after 5 either so thats created 2 jobs where one would have done it as doing that they burn out or get stress.

How many people work in the UK? About half of them!
