Best solution for stand in footbath?

This year is the worst I can remember strip leading to foot issues in lambs.

I’ve been running them through formalin and spraying with Terramycin but still not cleaning things up fully.

They moved onto fresh ground couple weeks ago on forage rape and I hoped that would help but still got too many limping.

Thinking about a stand in foot bath for them so wondered what solution is best.

Golden hoof/ Klingon Blue??

Other options?

Note it is a metal bath do copper sulphate is out.

Double single file footbath with formalin here. First one with a weaker solution to clean the foot. They walk through slower with two and feet are submerged much longer. Drying off on concrete or sheet important. Nothing else works as well. Time consuming PIA.

Also I’ve gone back to using my old Bateman metal footbath with the corrugated bottom that opens the foot up. Used as the second bath they don’t slip and slide so much.

Started using this so far. Much easier on the operator than formalin.

Picked up a bargain today at Mole valley

Spotted it in the yard and the guy said person ordered months ago and then decided they did not want it. Gave it to me with a 35% discount if I took it today.

10 by 3 bath with hurdles, swing gate and guillotine gate.

ill set it up tomorrow where my mobile system is to do lambs.

Think I need to cart about 200l of water up there to make it about 7cm deep.

Not sure about newer products , but the zinc based ones dont " go off" so can keep reusing same solution many times, its also cheap and make a bit stronger than needed , bit of detergent helps penetration of hoof (often use those washing machine tablets as they easier to keep in truck )
The biggest issue with footbaths though is sealed in infection , where chem kills what it touches and hardens the hoof but often a little bit gets sealed in that cause great pain and needs releasing few days later

We are using a product called T K double D from G. Shepherd animal health, im fairly pleased with results, needs doing a couple times in our walk through bath and standing in yard to dry before you see any improvement but with a stand in bath should work better. They also do a gel for spot treatment that works well we find.

I was talking to a man recently who lines his sheep race with white rhino lime mixed with water before bringing flock in for dosing, etc. Says it helps to prevent foot issues? Has anyone experience with this?

I talked to them about 3 years ago on a stand. Would not say what say what ingredient it was based on and came to the conclusion it was just a fancy detergent by what they were saying. Maybe I was wrong. Do they put ingredients on the can.

I had a cold call from them some time ago. It was a very 'salesy' salesman, which immediately makes me suspicious. I asked him to email me the details of the product as I wasn't going to buy any on the back of such a phone call and the email still hasn't arrived.

I started a thread on here at the time, as he'd claimed they had 5000 sheep farmers using it, so surely someone on here must be? @unlacedgecko must be the one. (y)

Perhaps it was 5000 sheep. How many have you got @unlacedgecko
