I am sure listening to him in 1969 you'd have found him just as plausible as listening to him today.
I suspect you may be right, but he's made good observations and his experience is of value. You could say that he learnt the hard way. I personally won't be signing up for life coaching or whatever it is that is being sold, (no offence intended to anybody there, just my opinion) Just take the message that by using nothing but careful management of livestock you can repair and improve damaged soils. As far as that message goes I'm in agreement with Savory 100%.

I agree, often reformed poachers make the best gamekeepers.

My point about him is that these theories are constantly evolving I'm sure he believed in his theories about elephants in 1969 in just the same way he believes in cattle and holistic grazing today only time will prove him right or wrong.

At 85 he ain’t got much left, I’d say the soil improvement is already proven no denying that . Weather or not it affects the weather ….. open verdict on that bit but from a farming perspective anything that improves the soil is good ! Very good especially if it makes you money on way not costs .
