956 TB Turbo conversion. I can still hear the turbo whistle to this day, only now it's called tinnitus...
(Photo from 2011, before the gearbox had a little accident).

The TFF 'alert' just pinged to say that @hendrebc had liked my '956' post from way back on page 1. Funnily enough the young lad on the right in the cab (now 16) was let loose in it's successor today for the 1st time:

And apologies for the non Case pic, the lad on the left in the 956 photo (now 18) was having a driving lesson today:

While their dad had a quieter day back in the yard ;)

It's a great thread! Will try and get a picture of my 895. It looks a bit rough compared to some here though

Have you any old pictures when there was about half a dozen or more in a field?

No, sadly not, none of us ever thought to take a camera to work which was a shame in hindsight. The most I can remember ploughing together was 4 tractors at Bridgend, which was Tom (956), Rob (956) and Albert (1246) plus me in Tims 955 as I was passing and had a couple of hours to fill in. It was as a bit of a faf turning at the ends, but it was 17 furrows working the long runs between the cottages and the village!
What Nash did you use back then? (94/95?!)

Yeah 94 I did a wee bit then 95 I spent most of my summer with you guys .

I used Tim's 955 mostly for rolling and ploughing occasionally getting a go on a 4wd 956 with a plough .

Thinking back I remember your drilling operation before the days of the combination unit. I remember a couple of rotteras going in front of the bettinson drill and probably a plough or 2 as well it seemed huge as a wee boy back in the 80s compared to dad's outfit but you had 4 times the acres that we did

It depends on the machine and the job to hand. There is no one fit for all type scenario for the check chains. A lot depend on the arm widths in work. All manufacturerd machines shoukd be standard cat 1 or cat 2 width but not every time. You need to set them with the machine attached to be tight when implement is raised but slack to allow movement in work
