I have 3 sheds that I'd like to get some lights in before winter.

Two are housing /calving sheds and the other is the feed yard that we have just covered over.

I just want to be able to see a better than just wandering around with a head torch but it doesn't need to be like daylight.

All suggestions welcome.

My take on LED striplights is don't. Expensive and very unreliable and die quickly.... A quick look online confirms they are not a wonderful as one would hope!

Had 5 put in with a rewire and refurb of the farm buildings, just one is now working 2 years later. Not cheap ones either. They are inevitably, in a difficult to reach location too...

I am replacing them with cheap and cheerful LED floodlights which are not as good, but cheap to replace.

The workshop was due to have new wiring/lights this time, but I will be keeping the old flourescent strips!

Unfortunately my experience with LED spots is much the same.. I probably bought 10 from CEF in 2018 an less than half would still be working.

Here, the cheapest lights are going to be 60watt replacement A19 bulbs, or 4' t8 led tubes. My experience is those last. If you go to a 100watt replacement bulb, it's too much heat for that size. The 4' tubes naturally spread out the light and heat, so they last. IF you don't already have the light sockets/flourescent fixtures, then UFO lights are very popular, because there's a lot of lumens with fewer electrical connections, and usually designed with adequately sized aluminum heat sinks to last. Cheapest is find used 4' or 8' fixtures and use direct wire t8 bulbs. Less work would be UFO lights spread further apart, less even light though from the high watt lights instead of spread out bulbs.
