Cash flow/ cost control

So,it’s looking like upto the end of September ( allowing for anomalies) our cash flow position will be within 1k of last yr despite producing less milk. The position for the rest of the yr looks more uncertain.
Was wondering how others are doing currently and what there budgets are suggesting for the rest of the yr

lazy.

We're ahead, because of nearly 20% extra milk and it's worth more than last year , calf sale on par with last year and store cattle were worth more, but only had 30 unlike last year when there was nearly 200, talking to accountants tomorrow, but have chance of more land which will be cash sale.

We are have done well this year so far. Milk output up atleast 10% and a higher milk price. Inputs were bought at reasonable prices. Had less machinery repairs and not bought any big bits of kit.

cashflow taken a knock due to a t8 reactor mid july so calf sales well down, milk price needs to maintain or increase through the winter to keep up with costs, adding a fourth ro8ot next spring may or may not 8e the sensi8le course 8ut thats the path we are choosing and it will help cashflow

Use some cash to buy a B button would ya paps

Cost control went out the window here with building a new dairy, hopfully getting it back under control now.
Building materials and anything made from concrete has gone mad!
2020 season for autumn calving was good, but 21 season not starting off so well. Hopefully with some more rain we can get some decent grass in front the cows.
Fertiliser for next year all bought on opening price, if I was looking at 400/ton now and cake at 280+ then milk price would need to shift.
Milk volumes are dropping in the EU due to costs of production rocketing.
Will be an interesting winter.
Labour gone up 7% as a nation, so no doubt we will have to follow suit.
All in all, 28p 3 years ago was better than 30p today

Probably did better at last years average milk price of 24ppl than I am likely to do in the next 6 months on an average price of 28.5ppl. Milk volumes about the same as last year, maybe up a bit. Closed with TB so that has a bit of an effect but not as much as rising costs

What programs are people using to run budgets on, we moved on Xero a couple of years ago and our business has gone through a lot of change since then. I know it has the option but I havent used it. Most of mine are on old envelopes, across my desk! With a copy of last year milk production verse current production.

Xeros budget is not very good it is better to export it into a spreadsheet.
However figured is a secondary link to Xero and is excellent.
