Crying shame a set up like that won’t be milked in though. That’s if the hearsay about whether he will milk or not is true (and the sale of the cows today would appear to confirm it…)

Didn’t realise ARLA contract was tied to a farm?As a 2nd unit, so no contact to go with farm.
It's not, but if you sell the farm and cows as a going concern and buying wants to keep going in the same circumstances then with certain conditions the contract can be transfered.Didn’t realise ARLA contract was tied to a farm?
Ah, now I see. Very informative. It's not, but if you sell the farm and cows as a going concern and buying wants to keep going in the same circumstances then with certain conditions the contract can be transfered.
In the case of Newton Rigg the seller was continuing to milk at the original farm so kept the contract. You can not split a contract.
Is that the definition of getting carried away with infrastructure in NZNot too far from here, decent size, plenty of irrigation, even got cubicles to make you feel at home
I'm guessing you'd have a choice of 3 different milk buyers.
Got about 10 days to get your bid in. https://www.pggwre.co.nz/property/ASH34685/659-ealing-montalto-road-carew/

Are there a lot of Welsh around there, the place names are very familiar?!Its quite flash.
I used to pick milk up there when it was first built but before the cubicle shed went up, at which point they changed milk companies.
It was considered a good shed because you got to it off a tar seal road, the track was smooth and it was usually what's known as a 'single suck' One pick up, full load back to the factory
There's a lot of every nation here really, but yeah some interesting names. There's a Tavistock dairy south of Timaru, could be Beefies southern farm? Are there a lot of Welsh around there, the place names are very familiar?!

Without dairy infrastructureIt is!! But it’s 400ish acres
From the sounds of it I reckon 5-6 million plus the best part of another million to build the infrastructureSounds expensive
