given he takes millions in salary and bonuses I can totally see why he doesn’t want anything to change !

I can’t recall the number exactly but it’s was over. 2mill for running a company that had lost 143 million that same year …… nice work !

I could do that….!

If that’s how they judge success I reckon I’d have a pretty good go at bettering that too!

There was a significant conflict of interest whilst Minette was sitting on the main RT board. The position which is a given to represent ALL the farming unions, not just NFU, is now held by Stuart Roberts. It took some considerable time to get Minette to accept the conflict and relinquish the position.

she has been utterly conspicuous by absence in this debate which makes it pretty clear where her loyalty is on this issue

what leadership ?

I think she did address the subject in one of her weekly vlogs.
I’m still waiting for the decorators to finish painting the mantelpiece 🤣🤣

I would have no issue if there was a premium that more than covered costs.

however red tractor have never made any effort/are unable to negotiate one on our behalf.

They have had there chance and failed us so now our only option is to remove the costs associated with there failure from our balance sheets.
I’ve said it before, once a product is mainstream it does not sell at a premium, it becomes the standard price with penalties for products deemed to be lower standard. Anyone who joined assurance in the early days with the expectations of it giving them a premium needs their head examined. The early adopters really should have know better!!

From what's been a hard slog over the last year, this issue has now become a great source of entertainment. Nothing better than seeing their noses being rubbed in the dirt.
Events are moving fast.
Just needs a TFF Union setting up to rival the nfu.
Soon get more farming members do can then speak for farmers rather than the nfu.
Wipe the nfu out..

I see.

Long term conflict of interest which has manifested itself into more profits for RT, more cost for farmers, and worsening market access.

Wonder if they still think they were doing the right thing, or if they've now realised what a disaster it's turned into.

I wouldn't mind if they came out and discussed it publicly, and got on with deciding what to do about it. But no. Nothing.
Minette Batters has never struck me as a listener so I doubt she is bothered. I'd say she is more looking at other roles post NFU then be too bothered about member opinions

I was aware of this from a post or two here previously...

I pointed this out in my meeting with the Group Rep. and suggested that MB was not going to change and the NFU needed a new Prez who was not compromised as she obviously is.

Her support for RT and her prior enthusiasm for WLA is not supported by the Membership.

It's looking more like the ahdb vote will bring this to a head, and their position on red tractor will be the deciding factor.

I will vote to disband if they continue with their support of this protection racket.
The fact that they ever financed this protection racket against us means they are up to their eyeballs in it. Who can we trust? They've should go.

Her loyalty is to her position and the kudos that it comes with and it, I for one, regret that she will not give her views and debate this matter.

Shame, as I think she is a good public face for the NFU, sharp and personable.
