Thanks... still waiting for them to get back... others are saying they can't do anything for several weeks... which will take us into the colder weather when most of the protected species on site will be hibernating. I don't want to pay a grand for a report which is innaccurate. I should have done this back in May. I honestly didn't expect to be asked for an eco report just for the retention of an existing building and where no development is proposed. Dx

Or we should be asking WHY we seem to need to many houses….and perhaps address that.
Maybe if people didn't have second homes then that would be a start. A very sensitive subject locally and one that is stopping me moving up the housing ladder and free up the affordable stock that I'm currently living in.

Maybe we are overpopulated... but all those houses and no infastructure won't work. We need the hospitals, roads and schools as well...

Personally I'd rather see bats protected than badgers.....
Loads of houses sat empty, loads of old factory sites/waste ground doing nothing . Roads already cannot cope with the traffic without adding thousands of more cars etc etc. Small villages spoilt with massive development sites and everybody building in their gardens. 3-4 house little developments sat in 3-4acres i agree with but its getting out of hand.

Yet, in Harlow, they've converted Terminus House, a 70's office tower, into abysmal flats under pd which aren't fit for anyone to live in......
Sprog One works for a big Civils company and what they really REALLY hate are bloody newts. They were doing the design and overseeing of a big roads project, and a "newt" was found in the site... allegedly. That "newt" cost the build nearly £1M in delays, costs etc etc.
