Dear sweet divine Bob, but you are I’d safely say, perfect company for a lash of pints down the local. If you were in my company, neither one of us I dare say, could believe a single word coming from the other. Best keep things like that I find, particularly when the local great and the good, are straining their necks to hear the gossip. When last by the way, were you in Cork? Would that have been before the Crimean War, or as late as the sixties?

I had to sell pork by the Kg, but was often asked "what is that in English", and I could tell them. I still think in Lb and oz and so do my kitchen scales.

The other day I bought some 2x1 batten, which was sold by the meter...
I bet it measures 25X50mm rather than 2X1". You have been robbed. :ROFLMAO:

Kiwi friend of mine went to the Uk for a holiday, when he came back asked me about the weights they were using to sell goods in the markets. "What are lubs and ozzies? Took a bit of explaining that they were in fact lbs and ozs

Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.

I think the last line applies to the idea everyone will be using one unit of measure.

I guess you never noticed that computers can use any Unit of measure you like.

Perhaps we ought to create the "Bell End" Unit of measure for gauging Remainers ?

It's just Boris chucking a bit of red meat to the likes of Duncan-Smith and Rees-Mogg. I enjoy my occasional 0.5683 lt of Butty Bach down the pub.....;)

Have you ever tried drinking a Litre of German beer ? Towards the end you feel like you've swallowed the sea.

Can't do that with Belgian elephant beer though

Oh right ... nothing like a benial insult to mask your own confusion.

Didn't quite pull it off though .. so 1.5 on the Bell End scale.

Benial?

I wasn't actually insulting you personally. Not deliberately anyway. Is 'gammon' offensive? I've always thought it quite descriptive of that ruddy complexioned brexit supporter who would think something like imperial should replace metric!

But honestly, the metric system isn't going anywhere. This is meaningless nonsense.

Yep, not left the playground yet. Nothing like a Lefty for insults - whilst others are "ist".

Excuse me whilst I take a nap "Gammon wielder". Didn't anyone tell you to be careful with your pork sword ?

I find it bewildering that you are still pushing this stuff .. carry on if you think it's serious .. but it really does sum up Remoaners 1,000,000%

The only people red in the face I see are those who dont accept a democratic vote and constantly rant about it, leave voters are just getting on with life.
Got to love all this nonsense about being allowed to sell stuff in either metric or imperial. Last time I was in France ( march 2020)prices in supermarkets were still in euros and francs, I saw several elderly people buying stuff and having no idea about the money they were handling over, I expect there are still some who think in the old franc too before it was revalued
